Richard Russell

Richard began his studio career in 1991 producing and writing Hardcore Rave music including ¬†Kicks Like A Mules “The Bouncer” and early UK rap such as London Posses “Pass The Rizla”.

In 2006 he conceived and co-produced “Aluminium”, an avant-garde orchestral album based on compositions by Jack White.

In 2010 he produced and co-wrote Gil Scott- Herons final album “I’m New Here”.

In 2012 he co-produced and co-wrote Bobby Womacks comeback album “The Bravest Man In The Universe”.

Richard¬†produced Damon Albarn’s Mercury Music Prize Nominated debut solo album “Everyday Robots” released 25 April 2014 on Parlophone Records.

In 2015 Richard produced the debut album by French-Cuban duo Ibeyi

That same year “I Am Paint”, featuring Lee “Scratch” Perry was released by Richard’s RLR project.

2017 saw the launch of Richard’s Everything Is Recorded project.

Richard is the founder and co-owner of independent record label XL Recordings.
